Mehbooba lays foundation of addl accommodation at JK House, New Delhi
Inspects Chanakyapuri Guest House, takes stock of facilities to inmates; directs improvement
New Delhi, Aug 31 : Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti laid the foundation of additional accommodation at J&K House, Chanakya Puri here today.
The proposed block would have 24 rooms, spread over four floors with two connecting corridors. The block would be built as per the latest fire safety norms.
Minister of State for Transport and Public Works, Sunil Kumar Sharma; Financial Commissioner, K. B. Aggarwal; Principal Resident Commissioner, R. K. Gupta; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal and other officers of JK House were present on this occasion.
On the occasion, Principal Resident Commissioner briefed the Chief Minister about the project which has been necessitated due to increased rush. He also informed the Chief Minister about the renovation and up gradation of rooms at JK House, 5- Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi which is being executed at a cost of Rs. 1.28 crores and is expected to be completed in six months.
Soon after laying the foundation stone, Mehbooba Mufti visited various blocks of the Guest House to personally inspect the facilities available for residents of the State while on their visit to the national capital. She issued on spot instructions for upgradation and improvement in the condition of rooms, hygienic condition of the pantries and general cleanliness of the compound. She specifically directed immediate upgradation of bedding and cutlery of the rooms besides the kitchen kits.
The Chief Minister particularly directed providing all sorts of help and assistance to the patient-inmates at the Guest House who come here for the treatment of life consuming diseases.
The Chief Minister later chaired a meeting to review the status of State’s properties at the national capital and at cities of Mumbai, Chandigarh and Amritsar.
Mehbooba Mufti urged the JK Resident Commission officials to make every effort to protect and preserve the properties.
No Eid prayers will be allowed at TRC Ground
Srinagar, Aug 31 : Authorities have decided not to allow Eid-ul-Azha prayers at TRC Ground here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
Eid-ul-Azha, the festival of sacrifices falls on September 2 (Saturday).
Socio-religious organization had announced that it will organize Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers at TRC Ground Srinagar.
An official from District Magistrate office told news agency CNS that in wake of the prevailing situation, Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers will not be allowed at TRC Ground Srinagar. He said that a formal order has been issued in this regard to concerned police station.
Confirming that Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers at TRC Ground will not be allowed, a top police official said that the decision has been taken in wake of prevailing situation. “The government order is aimed at to maintain peace and order in the capital city,” he said.
Market Checking conducted at Budgam
Budgam, Aug 31 : On the directions of District Magistrate Budgam, a team headed by Assistant Director CAPD Department on Thursday conducted market checking of various Tehsil including Budgam ,Chadoora, Beerwah, Magam and Khansahib.
During the checking a fine of over Rs 10,000 has been imposed upon the shopkeepers for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and Essential Commodities Act. Moreover Rotten Vegetables and Fruits were also destroyed on the Spot.
The Deputy Commissioner has asked all the traders to avoid black marketing or hoarding otherwise action under rules shall be initiated against the offenders.
Besides Assistant Director CAPD Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmed Kaloo and Tehsil Supply Officer Sheikh Abdul Hamid and others were part of the market checking team.
Kashmir has turned into police state, says Jama’at
Srinagar, Aug 31 : Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Thursday strongly condemned the continuous arrest of its spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali and Amir Tehsil Kulgam Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, and terms it brute violation of human rights. Zahid Ali (Advocate) was lodged in PS Damhal Hanji-pora Kulgam since August 4, 2017 and today authorities shifted both to sub-jail Mattan.
In a statement, the organization said that they had been detained under 153 CrPC and 13 unlawful activities at Gopalpora Kulgam by a large contingent of SOG and police on 4 August, 2017 after attending a condolence meet there. The allegations leveled against the duo leaders are baseless and concocted and as such have no relevance with reality.
Earlier bail application of the duo had also been rejected by the district & session judge Kulgam Mr. Kishore Kumar for unknown reasons.
Moreover Amir-e-Tehsil Bijbehara Gulzar Ahmad Rather was also arrested by cops of Jammu and Kashmir Police fortnight ago and is presently lodged in PS Bejbehara. Earlier Indian army had raided his house and asked his family to send him to local army camp. Later on local police detained Gulzar sahab and since then he is in illegal custody. Kashmir has been turned into a police state where no civil person is allowed to continue his/her political activities peacefully and as such police and civil administration has put the lives of common people at stake.

Jama'at at this juncture stands with all political prisoners of Kashmir including Dr Mohammad Shafi Shariati, Dr Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Masarat Alam Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat (Kulangam), Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf (Sopore), Abdul Samad Inquilabi, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi , Fehmeeda Sofi etc who are languishing in different jails for seeking the peaceful and cordial settlement of Kashmir issue in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiris.”
“Jama'at also expresses its complete sympathy and solidarity with political prisoners of Kashmir dispute who are sacrificing their today for the future of nation and urges international community including human rights groups to break their mum and take strong cognizance of human rights abuses in valley. Jama'at appeals people of Kashmir to take on weaker section of the society on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, particularly those families whose dear ones have got martyred.”
SVO registers case against former Patwari
Jammu, Aug 31 : State Vigilance Organization registered a case FIR No. 33/2017 in P/S VOJ under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K P C Act Svt. 2006 and 120 B RPC, against then Patwari Halqa Mand Saleem Banday for entering / attesting a mutation No. 2338 dated 09.08.2006 u/s 6 of Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 with respect to Kh. No. 871 min measuring 1 Kanal in favour of Chuni Lal S/o Inder Dass R/o Mand 1 kanal (Gair Mumkin Dukan) and 06 marlas (Gair Mumkin Dukan) in favour of Subash Chander, Kuldeep Kumar, Mohan Lal Ss/o Parmanand R/o Mand Tehsil & Distt. Udhampur.
The verification conducted reveals that the ownership rights by way of attesting mutation under section 6 of J&K Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 have been conferred to the above said persons out of way by the said the Patwari Halqa Mand and then Naib Tehsildar Tikri Sh. Faquir Chand (Now Expired). The section 6 of J&K Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 was neither applicable nor operative in the said case i.e. (Shops) because the application of section 6 of J&K Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 exclusively applies to (Dwelling House), occupied by a person who is a tiller. The said public servants alongwith the beneficiaries by abuse of their official position for ulterior motives conferred undue benefits in favour of the beneficiaries and violated the laid down rules public procedure while entering the attestation of said mutation in favour of the above named applicants.
Protest in Pampore after Army allegedly thrashes driver
Pampore, Aug 31 : Massive traffic jam was witnessed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Pampore after army personnel allegedly beat a Tavera driver resulting in protest and minor stone pelting, sources said.
They said that police immediately reached the spot and took away both army vehicle and Tavera.
The army personnel allegedly thrashed a Tavera driver for not giving side to their vehicle, sources said.
They said that seeing a driver being thrashed by the soldiers, people around started protesting against it resulting in the jam.
Witnesses said some youth also pelted some stones at the army however the situation came to normal immediately.

Yasin Malik condemns slapping of yet another PSA on ailing Aasiya
Srinagar, Aug 31 : Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the slapping of yet another public safety act on Ailing Dukhtaran Millat chairperson Mtr Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her associate Fehmida Sofi who after being slapped with PSA have been again shifted to Jammu jail today. Terming this act as highly undemocratic and unethical, JKLF chairman said that an ailing lady whose PSA was quashed by court recently and was shifted to chest decease hospital for treatment, was eventually dragged out of hospital and shifted to Jammu jail by police which is highly condemnable. He said that this is a glaring example of political vendetta and police highhandedness and this act clearly shows the moral and political bankruptcy of present ruling regime.
He said that an ailing lady is being targeted and tortured only for her political belief and rulers who propagate “battle of ideas’’ and ‘’Goli Nahin Boli’’ (talks not bullets) theory have unleashed worst kind of oppression against people of Kashmir and choked every little space of peaceful political activities. It has been a common practice of occupational forces to arrest and stop political activities but the way people are being jailed under black laws actually shows that ruling regime only knows to suppress peaceful voices by military might.
While condemning the prolonged incarceration of JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), Hilal Ahmad Malik of Trehgam Kupwara, Atif Hassan and Irfan Khan of Islamabad, Muhammad Yousuf Bahagwan of Sopore and thousands of others who are languishing in different jails and police stations of Jammu Kashmir and India, JKLF chairman said that tyranny and oppression has its limits and according to the law of retribution ,tyrants and oppressors will surely have to answer for their crimes against humanity.
Aga Syed Hasan extends greeting to Muslim Ummah on Eid-ul-Azha
Budgam, Aug 31 : Extending hearty greetings to people on the very auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha being celebrated on Saturday, J&K senior separatist leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian, Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi has appealed people of state to celebrate this Eid with simplicity and austerity. Hed asked affluent families to take care of the needy, orphans, widows, elderly and families of martyrs.

KIE felicities more than 100 NEET, JEE qualifiers
Coaching Centers churning State’s future, nobody will be allowed to disturb the sector: CCAK
Srinagar, Aug 31 : Coaching Centers Association of Kashmir (CCAK) has said that over the years coaching centres in Kashmir have become centres of excellence with hundreds of high end careers being made at these institutions and no force will be allowed to disrupt the sector.
Speaking at Excellence Day organised by premier coaching centre Kashmir Institute of Excellence (KIE) ParrayPora, Srinagar, the chairman CCAK G N Var said that coaching centres are exploiting the potential of Kashmir’s intelligent Human Resource. The Excellence day was celebrated to felicitate the achievers of NEET and JEE MAINS 2017.
On the occasion Mr G.N Var the head of the CCA and Private School Association Kashmir was the Chief Guest whereas G N Parray, Chairman SSM college of Education presided over as the guest of honour. The occasion witnessed a galaxy of dignitaries, civil authorities and renowned personalities besides the faculty and a huge assembly of zealous students of KIE.
On the occasion the prospective doctors and engineers were accorded a warm welcome amidst huge rounds of applause. It is pertinent to mention here that Kashmir institute of excellence has given more than hundred selections in NEET alone this year and around 130 selections in NEET and JEE mains combined in 2017. He made it explicitly clear that no negative interference shall be tolerated in the smooth functioning of the coaching industry in the valley. He said that in the past too many attempts were made to sabotage the successful coaching centres but nothing could dent its spirit. The function concluded with a promise of Excellence for future too.
JK Police sports festival concludes at Awantipora
Pulwama Aug 31 : The second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Police Sports Festival-2017 under the theme ‘Repulse Negativity with Positivity’ concluded here at Police Lines Awantipora.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama was the chief guest on the occasion.
Hundreds of sportspersons took part in different games in the festival. The Deputy Commissioner and SP Awantipora distributed cash prizes, medals and certificates among the players who featured well in the festival.
The DC appreciated the role of District Police Awantipora for organizing such sports festivals for the students and youth in the district.
